Rocsi

2008 - 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our furry family member, Rocsi, our precious golden retriever.

Rocsi was such a gentle soul and our best companion and guard dog. We will miss her dearly.

Rocsi, our puppa Rocsi, as we liked to call her…
We will miss being greeted by you every day when we come home, even when we were only gone for 20 minutes.
We will miss your barking every time another dog or person walks by the house or the doorbell rings.
We will miss your comfort on cold winter nights when you took up two-thirds of our king-size bed.
We will miss your curious eyebrows that shifted back and forth when we talked to you.
We will miss your sad, puppy dog face that melted our hearts and made us say "Awwwww".
We will miss your toe and feet kisses, the only kisses you ever gave.
We will miss giving you belly rubs and the look of disappointment you gave us when we stopped those belly rubs.
We will miss your love of butt rubs and the way you’d move to make sure we were getting the right spot.
We will miss your interesting, twisted sleeping positions that you always looked so peaceful in.
We will miss your happy-go-lucky, proud little trot when playing in the backyard.
We will miss your love of sticks and how you’d destroy them with your jaws.
We will miss the leftover food disposal and hoover vacuum cleaner you were around the dinner table.
We will miss your begging head that laid on our laps when you wanted some of the popcorn we were eating.
We will miss you at soccer games where you loved to be a part of our cheering squad.
We will miss you around the fire pit both at home and on camping trips.
We will miss you at our side as our walking and running buddy.
We will miss the look on your face when the cat is finally displaying affection towards you.
We will miss how you ran towards the television and barked whenever there were dogs or other animals on it.
We will miss your footsteps on the stairs when you followed your “wolf pack” to the second floor of our house.
We will miss your Rocsi flop, when you laid down with one paw out and one tucked in, both in front and in back.
We will miss your guilty look when you were accused of eating the cat food or laying on the sofa during the day.
We will miss your perky, floppy ears when you heard something you like, like “W-A-L-K” or “treat” or “ride” or “outside”.
We will miss your pacing and the comfort you sought from us when there was thunder.
We will miss the pride you had for your bone, and how you made sure to show us it before chewing it away.
We will miss your fluffy fur and the way it got all over our clothes, furniture and the whole house in general.
We will miss your fluffy tail that looked like a fan when you wagged it.
We will miss your adorable furry paws and how cute it looked when the fur grew between each of your toes.
We will miss the compliments you got whenever we took you somewhere with us…people just adore Goldens.
We will miss how much you didn’t like going to the kennel, but how much of a good sport you were anyway.
We will miss seeing how great you were with kids, letting them do anything to you and not even moving a muscle.
We will miss how much you loved all the men in our family and how you went crazy every time they visited.
We will miss toasting you with champagne on your birthday every January 1.
We will miss the way you appeared to be listening to us, every time we needed someone to talk to.
We will miss the way you watched us, as we went on with our daily lives.
We will miss your devoted love for each of us in your family, even the cat.
We will miss just having you around, because you were always there, at birthdays, holidays, and everything in between.
We will miss you so much, best friend. We will love you forever and always.

You were such a good dog. The best dog. Our sweet puppa Rocsi.

Here are some of our favourite Rocsi memories from the past 10 years…

She only ever rolled over one time, and that was during a competition at obedience school which she won!
She only ever sprayed by a skunk once in her lifetime, but stunk up the family so much that Weston was sent home from daycare!
She would chew everything that was left out, remotes, retainers, CDs, but the best time ever was when she chewed through our wall…twice.
She never, ever gave face kisses, but would lick the hell out of feet and toes.
She was afraid of water, unlike any other retriever out there! She was so scared that one time she even squeezed her head right out of her collar to get away from it.
She ate an entire gingerbread house while we were out Christmas shopping!
