So sweet, so beautifully memorialized

We would like to thank you so much for memorializing our wonderful mini schaunzer Diesal in such a beautiful way. We were so impressed by the detail and special touch everything had from the blue silk bags to the paw print that was perfect and so touched our hearts. I was so surprised and so impressed. Thank you again.

A special thank you to Gateway and Staff for looking after my sweet little angel, Tasha. She is so very much missed but we are happy to have her back home so quickly. Her little Urn is side by side with her little girl, Lucky. We will cherish her memories forever. Thank you for all you do. It is very comforting knowing she was well looked after by you. Thank you for offering the services you do

On Friday May 17th I said goodbye to my best friend of 14 years. We did so at the Harwood Pet Hospital in Ajax in the early evening at approximately 8pm. This proved to be the longest and toughest day of my life.

I had done a lot to prepare myself for that day but truth be told I had no idea how hard it would hit me. I am still in mourning but I want to tell you how Gateway helped with the grieving process. When a dog is euthanized you are told in advance that it is a quick, tranquil, painless and peaceful process and it was for Gretzky but NOT for me. It was very shortly after we left the veterinary clinic that I realized I needed to see Gretzky one more time to say goodbye properly. I contacted Harwood Pet Hospital and they told me about Gateway and that I could have a viewing which I absolutely knew I had to do.
On Thursday May 23rd my wife I attended your facility in Toronto on Melford Drive.

We were greeted politely at the door by Steve Halstead and lead into a room where he would bring Gretzky in. Before he did that I had some questions. I was concerned that Gretzkys appearance may have changed since the last time I had saw him. I was told that he would be prepared for viewing but I was still concerned however Steve alleviated those concerns as he had prepared him that morning himself. Steve left the room and brought Gretzky in and I instantly felt a sense of calm come over me. Steve had done a fantastic job and Gretzky looked like he was sleeping, just as he had when he was such a big part of my life. Steve allowed us time alone with Gretzky, assured us we should take our time and to push the button on the wall when we were ready for him to return.

When we had completed our time and Steve came back we asked him to take a few pictures for us which he was happy to do. We shared a few stories with him as he had gone through the same process as us so he was very sympathetic to our situation.

Without the viewing at Gateway I am certain I would have a large hole in my heart forever based on the last time I had seen Gretzky and said goodbye at the vets. I still have a hole in my heart and will miss him forever but that hole is much smaller because I had the opportunity to see him at your facility and say goodbye in a much better setting. I am at peace with saying goodbye now.

Thank you for offering the services you do. Thank you for what you did for Gretzky including the visitation and receiving his ashes and clay footprint.

A Lasting Memory

Thank you to all at Gateway for your outstanding service, care and compassion. You made this unbearable time, a loving memory. Your compassion for my loving Bruno was heartfelt and so much appreciated. I can not say enough about how happy I was with your services and how fast you brought him back to me. It takes a special person to do what you do and there is no doubt, everyone of you are! Thank you again for making Bruno's last day perfect.

Thank You from the whole family

When Lucki left the whole family was really upset. It wasn't until we got to bring him home when we felt at peace again. Gateway showed excellent service and sympathy for Lucki. Everything felt and looks like its done with quality and purpose. Thank you so much Gateway! As you have made this chapter of our lives easier.

I lost Harrison who was my world the last 14 years, I took time off work cause I knew I would need to, I assumed not enough time cause I knew I'd be upset when I picked up his ashes, but my sweet boy was back within days, giving me time to bring him home and adjust. I couldn't be more grateful, his urn was engraved and beautiful.
