Sassy
2007 - 2015
We adopted our sweet boxer, Sassy, from a Humane Society. She was 3 years old and weighed just 42 pounds. Every part of her body had an infection and she didn't even know what a toy was. We vetted her and got her healthy, taught her how to play and spent hours just loving and enjoying her. Sassy was the sweetest girl with a gentle spirit and a huge heart. She developed swollen lymph nodes in her neck, which we discovered on December 17, 2014. By the middle of January, 2015 she was struggling to breathe, ate little and threw up what she did manage to swallow. Even with this, she still brought her favourite ball to us to play and greeted us at the door with her "jellybean" wiggle. On February 2, 2015, we made the extremely painful decision to set Sassy free of her pain and suffering. We took her to the vet and held her while she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. We miss her so very much and our heart breaks at every thought of her. I know that one day we will be thankful for the time we had with this amazing furbaby. Right now, though, it hurts too much to even say her name or look at her picture. Thank you for taking the time to read our Sassy's story. It means so much.
