We just want to say we miss you so very much and after looking at the Gateway site are reassured that you were taken care of with dignity and love. I hope your little blankie kept you warm and we just bought another one just like it so that we can remember you always.
20 years is a long time Baby Girl (9 weeks old when we picked you up at the SPCA in Newmarket... just a little fluff and hair that stood up like a punk rocker - LOL!) We will love you forever and always and to us you were more than a Pet.
You took us through some very rough times in our life and were always there for us...sitting on the couch between us and looking back and forth as if to say ...Get it together Mom and Dad.
So glad we left our little note with you ..under your paw...at Gorham Animal Hospital in Newmarket. (Will Miss you Sam xoxoxo <3) - feel sad that I cannot remember the exact words :( Doctor Sherry Simm and Associates were so very kind to us that day we left you. We sat with you for 45 minutes after they gave you a sedative to calm you but hey you were already calm as we believe you knew we were making it all ok for you. As I held you and Tony scratched your wee head you left us so peacefully for a better place as Tony keeps telling me. Doctor Sherry had to tell me a couple of times that you had left before it registered. She left the room and let us have our time with you and we placed you on the table with your favourite little blankie wrapped around you. That was when we placed the note under your front white paw. As we left the room I went back and uncovered your ears so that I could see them one last time….Everyone hugged and Sherry said….Don’t worry we will take care of your Baby. Broke my heart. When I left the office and felt the cool spring air and sun hit my face I screamed …so sorry if I frightened you but my heart was breaking into a million pieces. Tony held me while I sobbed and we somehow got home. *BTW your little dish that you last drank out of is still there in the kitchen with fresh water each day and will be there until I need to not see it any more. Your little cedar box we received yesterday from Gateway March 8th will be placed with one of us when we leave this earth. Love that your name is engraved on top Sammi (Bubs) Tony's pet name for you that stuck and Bubbers LOL! See I am smiling as I write that. The tune I whistled to you will always remain in my heart.....made up but ours alone. :) Also glad that I had Sherry cut off some of your fur to touch ..Your little Santa Claus neck was so pure and white and soft. I will place this in your treasure box as well along with the comb that I used to brush you constantly with....... that long beautiful fur of yours. She asked if I wanted all colours and I of course said yes. We are both having a hard time letting you go and we need to find a place in our hearts that makes us feel warm every time we think of you. Spring came early for a couple of weeks in Ontario this year 2017 just for you as we took you back and forth that week (brought you home every day) Feb 21st - Feb 27th Doctor Simm had thought maybe you had another life left but was not to be….:( Snowed after you left though and got very cold ..like our hearts that need to warm up again. On your last trip from home I said to Tony in the car as you lay snuggled in my arms looking at the people as we passed by...You will come home again soon Sam but in a different way. As you know we never had kids...but you were our kid. I am writing this and will print it off for your little blue box from Gateway so that someday when we are gone others will know just how very much you mattered to us. You know me! I need to write to feel better. Don't right now but it will come. People tell us to get another Cat but we don't want one and you will never, ever be able to be replaced. Love you always and forever....Mom and Dad to you...........
